We are a small independent retailer set in the Foot of the Durham Dales in the north pennines, we pride ourself in providing this rural community and visitors with good service and produce that comes from surrounding farms, fisheries, wild or grown.
Lanchester Dairies is the largest independent dairy in the North East of England, totally in local ownership. We are the local hub for 21 local Asda stores and also supply milk, cream and ice cream to local Tesco stores. We also own "Bill 'n' Geoff's" ice cream produced on our site.
We stock our own locally caught game and venison from Raby Castle as well as over 120 different cheeses.
Lowfields Farm Shop and Cafe offers the perfect destination for a day trip out for the family. Whilst mum may browse around the shop stocked with our own beef, pork, lamb and local vegetables, dad may relax reading the newspapers provided, whilst the children can play outside on the adventure playground.
The farm shop and cafe are situated just three miles west of Darlington, on an old medieval village site which once hosted a Time Team visit. There is a permissive route through the buried medieval village where people can stroll and see our rare breeds of traditional cattle. We also have a play area for children and tractor and trailer rides can be arranged for groups.
We are a family-run, County Durham-based business, with 3 generations of experience in the local dairy industry. 95% of our milk is collected from within 25 miles of the dairy and we take great pride in working with some of the North East's best dairy farmers, who we know and trust and who work to the highest standards of animal welfare.
An organic plant nursery, RHS teaching centre and Bed and Breakfast, also serving afternoon teas 100% baked on site with local produce. Open all year. Situated in south Durham, 3 miles north of Hardwick Country Park, 7 miles south east of Durham city. Gardens open for Red Cross in May and August.
Headlam Hall is a 17th century country house set in beautiful gardens and surrounded by open countryside. This family owned and run hotel has 40 bedrooms, a restaurant, ballroom, meeting rooms, a luxury spa and a 9 hole golf course. All our red meat is reared from farms in County Durham, and a local farmer also rears some of the lambs on our own land at Headlam.
Bradley Burn Farm Shop and Cafe is housed in a beautiful Scandinavian log cabin in lower Weardale. Tables on our terrace overlook the burn flowing past. There is an enclosed play area, a way-marked farm trail and lots of dog walks - all free for our customers. We specialise in the best of local and regional food and offer a wide variety of quality fresh food.
We have a small Farm Shop where all of our products can be purchased. We are open 9.00am-6.00pm Monday to Saturday and 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays. We attend several Farmers Markets every month across the region from Newcastle to Stokesley across to Barnard Castle to Hartlepool.
